Szent-Györgyi students were able to have a private, informal conversation with Katalin Karikó

Dr. Katalin Karikó, the world-famous biochemist, graduating at the University of Szeged, who developed a modified mRNA technology that later became the basis of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid19 vaccine, has accepted the invitation of Dr. Péter Hegyi program director and during her three-day stay in Szeged, she also took the time to meet the young university researchers.

The young students of the Academy working in the field of biomedical research have prepared with great enthusiasm and many personal and professional questions for the conversation. The specialty of the meeting was given by the fact that several students carry out their research in the laboratories of the Szeged Biological Research Centre, where Katalin Karikó herself began her professional career decades ago.
